Open Pores and Congestion skin
Open pores refer to visibly enlarged openings of the hair follicles, typically found on the nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin areas where sebaceous (oil) glands are most active. Open pores are more noticeable in individuals with oily or combination skin, but they can affect anyone.
Congested skin describes a state in which the pores become clogged with a mixture of excess sebum, dead skin cells, environmental pollutants, sweat, and sometimes bacteria. This congestion often results in dullness, rough texture, blackheads, whiteheads, and occasional breakouts.
CAUSE:
- Excess Sebum Production
- Genetics
- Ageing and Loss of Skin Elasticity
- Improper Skincare
- Environmental Factors
- Hormonal Imbalances
- Diet and Lifestyle
SYMPTOMS:
- Enlarged pores, especially in the T-zone (nose, forehead, chin)
- Uneven, rough skin texture, with a bumpy or gritty feel
- Blackheads and whiteheads, caused by trapped sebum and dead skin
- Dull complexion, lacking radiance and clarity
- Occasional breakouts, particularly in congested areas
- Makeup not sitting well on the skin, due to underlying texture and buildup
